Apartment, 2018

Interior Design: Tatyana Minina
Photography: Mikhail Loskutov
This design project's objective was to infuse Balinese elements into a Moscow apartment for a young mother and her daughter. The apartment is situated in a historic building from 1900s near the Russian Museum of Decorative Arts.

The design project employs ethnic interior features, such as hand-carved wooden elements, crafted materials, and art objects. The living room's striking chest of drawers is a creative use of a screen initially ordered for the bedroom. During the bedroom wall dismantlement, a beautiful century-old brickwork was discovered, prompting us to preserve it and discard the screen to avoid concealing the brick. However, such beauty must not go to waste! Thus, the green chest of drawers was born.

The child's bedroom's curtains, towering at 3.5 meters, were hand-painted in the bathtub. We successfully painted a massive fabric volume and attained the desired project result.
